Key Worker Information

19th March 2020

Information for parents regarding ‘Key Worker’ status and which children school will be available to look after from Monday

The Secretary of State for Education has now published the guidance on who may attend school next week and the full guidance may be found here:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision

Within the document the Government are clear that:

  •  ‘If it is at all possible for children to be at home, then they should be.’

  • Parents / carers should check with employers if unsure (although Twiss Green will also provide guidance if you are unsure)

  • ‘Parents should not rely for childcare upon those who are advised to be in the stringent social distancing category such as grandparents, friends, or family members with underlying conditions.’

The parents / carers of some children will be contacted by school directly today to advise that we are able to offer care.

For clarity, we would therefore ask that parents / carers:

  • Use the Government ‘Key Worker’ Advice, or check with employers if unsure to ascertain if you are a key worker.

  • Where at all possible keep children at home.

  • Contact Twiss Green directly (preferably today) if you will have to send your children to school on Monday.

We appreciate that these are difficult times for all - please be assured that we will try our utmost to keep Twiss Green open for those who need us wherever possible. Stay safe.
