Breakfast Club/After School Club Assistant

to assist the Breakfast/After School Club Supervisors in the day to day organisation and running of the extended services clubs. Duties will be varied and will involve assisting the supervisors in planning and running play activities; provision of breakfasts/snacks; administering first aid; cleaning duties and some administrative tasks.  You must enjoy working with primary age children, be self-motivated and possess the ability to provide creative play activities in a safe, caring environment.  Recent experience of working with children is required. A minimum NVQ 2 in Play Work or Childcare & Education is required, with a willingness to undertake NVQ 3 training.

Candidates must be able to model good use of English language.

The post will be for one year initially, with a view to becoming permanent for the right candidate.

The post is open to applicants who can provide either morning or afternoon cover, or both, and therefore there may be more than one appointment made. You must be able to fill in for staff absence from time to time, and a willingness to work during school holidays would be advantageous.

The successful applicant(s) will be working term time only for up to five mornings and/or five afternoons each week: morning hours will be 07:45 to 09:15am; afternoon hours will be 3:15 to 5:45pm. During school holidays the hours of work would fall between 07:45am to 5:15pm up to a maximum of 37 hours per week, though overtime may be available.

The salary for the post(s) will be paid at Warrington Council's Grade 3, starting at scale point 8 and rising to scale point 9 after a probationary period. This equates to an hourly rate of £9.01 rising to £9.16 before statutory deductions.
