Welcome to Year 4

Year 4 Home Learning
Saturday 4th April: Hola! Thank you so much for the fabulous work you are sharing with us! It is so lovely to see some of the amazing art, writing and pictures you are sending to us, keep up the fantastic effort! It has been decided that children with siblings at High School have the option to start their Easter break this week for 2 weeks. We are therefore putting 3 weeks of activities below. 1 week of work and 2 weeks of Easter activities for whenever your child is on holiday. Joe Wicks PE is still around to start your day, including fancy dress Friday! Daily reading and times tables practise would still be worthwhile doing. Details of week 3 work for White Rose Maths and Hamilton English can be found below. We will also set some activities on Purple Mash that can be completed during the next 3 weeks. Click on the red links to go straight to the relevant home pages. We hope you are enjoying your home learning and please email either of us if needs be.
Thank you
Mrs Sinclair & Miss Roberts

  • GoNoodle - GoNoodle is a fantastic website that we regularly use in class. The children love the dances and workouts; it focuses on mindfulness by engaging children in physical activities with dances and songs. You will need to set up an account, but this is free - there is a letter to parents to help with this at the foot on the page. Have a go at completing the Move and Learn activity sheet.....there's a link at the foot of the page for this too.
  • Art/drawing - Art for Kids Hub shows children how to draw using video tutorials (especially their favourite characters).  Cartooning Club is another lovely drawing tutorial channel.
  • Jigsaw - Here are some stories (audio files) and  Calm Me times (audio files) that you may wish to share with your child from two of our PSHE sessions that we have recently introduced.
  • Music - Miss McGann has sent all pupils their Charanga login details and activities can be found on the website.
Please also see a document below which explains grammar terminology. Use this to help children with any grammar tasks set on Purple Mash.
At school, we use a weekly resource called Picture News. We will attach a Picture News resource here every week (next week's is attached) for you to talk through with your children should you wish.
Attached is a poster for a 30 day Lego Challenge for all of our lego fans. This will be one the teachers will definitely be doing - have fun!
