Year 6 Online Learning:
w/c 30/3/20
Hello everyone! How is it all going at home? Please feel free to email me (dwood@twissgreen.net) if you need help or advice with home learning. I am always happy to help. For this week, I will continue to set 'To Dos' on Purple Mash and would like children to continue with Reading Plus most days and to be dipping into Numeracy Workout - it really will sharpen up your skills and understanding and is designed to match the content of the KS2 curriculum.
I have also attached below two Science tasks (pdfs) and a Maths investigation Booklet (with answers for parents). I will be adding more resources to assist parents over the weekend.
spag.com - Online SPaG Test Practice  1 test to do here for now (Well done to those who have done it - Q2 fooled ALL of you!). There is a document attached to help with understanding any grammar terminology.
Tasks from 'To do' on Purple Mash are now live - I've added a class blog too
Find the class Blog and add a well-written diary style account of your experience of home learning so far. Tip - Write the account first in word (pc), or notes (ipad) and copy and paste it into the blog as a new post. The very best one gets a 'stay in bed half an hour longer for free' voucher from me that your parents have to obey! ;-) (I'll judge them at the weekend).
Reading Plus - One book per day (Unless you are reading Lord of the Rings, in which case...Get reading!!)
Numeracy Workout - Please choose the areas that you know you need to work on
PE - The Body Coach will be doing workout sessions at 9am Monday-Friday. As well as being good for their physical health, this will help clear the children's minds ready to learn.
Music - Miss McGann has sent all pupils their Charanga login details and activities can be found here.
Picture News - This a weekly resource we use in school to discuss issues currently in the news. I will upload this weekly for you to share with your child (next week's resources are attached). Please see the attached supporting document, which can be used for children to explore and share their thoughts.
As we know from the incredible results of our South America homework task, creative learning is really important. In your learning week you should also make time for some art and D&T activities. If you play an instrument - include this in your learning time too - learn how to play a new piece of music or a new song. I know some you are really keen on Lego building - there is a challenge poster attached if you want to try any of the challenges.
