###### 13th January 2017

Next week the children in Y4, Y5 and Y6 will be able to take part in a tables challenge.  This will consist of a written test that will test the children’s rapid recall of multiplication and division facts.  Below is an example that the children may wish to practise in order to see if they are ready for the real thing. I imagine that some of our children in Year 3 will also be keen to do this challenge at some point in the school year – they will be more than welcome to take part.

Year 3 Twiss Green Tables Challenge Homework

How well do you know your times tables.  How long will it take you to complete these grids?

Write out the multiples of 2, 4, 8, 3, 5, 10, 12 and then use them to complete the grids.

 x 2 4 8 3 5 10 4 8 3 6 7 9 11 12 x 2 5 8 3 10 4 12 9 7 11 3 8 5 10

Now use inverse operations to complete these division facts

 60 ÷ 5 = 36 ÷ 3 = 28 ÷ 4 = 10 ÷ 10 = 24 ÷ 2 = 16 ÷ 8 = 55 ÷ 5 = 33 ÷ 3 = 32 ÷ 4 = 20 ÷ 10 = 45 ÷ 5 = 30÷ 3= 36 ÷ 4 = 30÷ 10 = 22 ÷ 2= 24 ÷ 8= 40 ÷ 5 = 27 ÷3 = 32 ÷ 4 = 40 ÷ 10= 20 ÷ 2 = 32 ÷ 8 = 35÷ 5 = 24 ÷ 3 = 40 ÷ 4 = 50 ÷ 10 = 16 ÷ 2 = 40 ÷ 8= 30 ÷ 5 = 21 ÷ 3 = 44 ÷ 4 = 60 ÷ 10 = 14 ÷ 2 = 48 ÷ 8 = 25 ÷ 5 = 18 ÷ 3 = 48÷ 4 = 70 ÷ 10 = 12 ÷ 2 = 64÷ 8 =
