Year 6: Roles and Responsibilities 
 
 
The theme for autumn is 'South America' - take a look below to see some of the exciting things you will be learning about!
Please check Seesaw for information about your weekly homework activities. 
 
English/Maths/ Spelling Homework will be set on a FRIDAY and should be handed in the following FRIDAY.
 
Reading journals and reading books should be brought into school EVERYDAY.
READING 
 
At home, you should be reading AT LEAST 5 times per week. You will have your own individual reading book and should make sure you log all your reading in your reading journal.
 
We will also be encouraging you to read a wide range of genres this year too - why not choose something to read that is different to the books you would usually go for? Visit our Reading for Pleasure section for more ideas!
 
 
Reading Plus
 
Please use your individual login to access Reading Plus at home to complete the different activities linked to your personal targets. 
 
At least two Reading Comprehension sessions should be completed at HOME each week, with the other two and your Visual Skills/Vocabulary tasks being completed in school.

Spelling Homework
 
See below for information about this term's weekly spelling homework lists, along with useful ideas for how you can learn your spellings too.  You will also find the link to Spelling Frame that you can access with your individual password to practise your spellings for the week. 
Maths Homework
 
Below you will find the link to My Maths; you can login and access this using your individual login.  Some weeks, you will be set a selection of activities linked to your Mathematics learning to complete for homework using My Maths.
Times Tables Homework
 
See below for the link to TT Rockstars that you can access with your individual password. 
Children will be tested weekly on their times table and corresponding division facts to increase their speed and accuracy. Should they wish to practise further at home, please click on the image below to log in.
Themed Work homework - South America
As we will be learning about South America in our Geography lessons, your Themed Work homework for this term is to research a country/ or an aspect of South America and then produce something to share with the class and parents at our ‘South American Exhibition’ (dates and details to follow). The finished project will need to be handed in by Friday 26th November ready for our exhibition, the following week.
