PE at Twiss Green
Our intent is to deliver a PE curriculum that fosters a positive relationship with health & fitness for all. It encourages lifelong participants in physical activity, and promotes mental wellbeing, regardless of physical ability.
This half term, Years 3 & 4 will be taking part in SKYTRY rugby sessions delivered by Warrington Wolves.
What is SKYTRY rugby?
Sky Try is a ground-breaking collaboration between the RFL, Sky and the Rugby League Foundations.
Sky Try is the biggest ever programme of Rugby League opportunities and in Warrington, our focus is on schools. Thanks to the funding from Sky, the Foundation is able to deliver coaching to years 3 and 4 in primary and years 7,8 and 9 in secondary schools. Aimed at the growth of Rugby League, the idea is to grow participation in the sport by 5% across the country. In Warrington there has been a 13% growth within the game.
Sky Try is about children and young people having fun, getting active, growing in confidence and importantly enjoying Rugby League. We want to inspire them to join their school teams, local community clubs and progress through the award-winning talent pathway. Together we are creating the future generation of Rugby League stars.
Y6 will soon be starting weekly Capoeira sessions. As part of their South America topic, they will be learning about the Brazilian martial art.
Travel To Tokyo
A massive well done to all of our children and families who took part in the Travel To Tokyo Challenge. We managed to get all the way past Beijing and were on the road to Tokyo! It was fantastic to see so many families getting active and having fun!
Have a look at how some of our children have been getting active during the summer.
Isabella and her sister Millie have discovered a real passion for Cricket over the summer.
This half term we will be appointing our new Playground Leaders. Would you like to lead playtime session with other children in school? Would you like to be a role model to younger children and support them to have the best time they can at playtime? Are you in Upper KS2? Then being a Playground Leader could be for you! Let your class teacher or Mrs Durr know if you are interested in becoming a Playground Leader.
